Who are our Members?

Members of the Chihuahua Club of America are breeders, owners, exhibitors, and judges. Many, through experience, have gained extensive knowledge about Chihuahuas. Others are newer to the breed or to participating in organized activities involving Chihuahuas. Some Members are involved in Conformation while others enjoy Performance Sports (which show off a dog’s natural skills) or Companion events such as Agility, Obedience, Rally & Tracking. Some Members are dedicated Chihuahua owners who may not show or breed but give these pint-size pups wonderful homes. Others make the world a happier place by taking tiny superstars to various facilities as therapy dogs or just to bring a smile to someone’s face.

CCA Membership

The Value of the CCA

Joining the Chihuahua Club of America means becoming part of a vibrant and welcoming community that is united by a deep love for the Chihuahua breed. As the official national club recognized by the American Kennel Club, the CCA serves as the trusted voice for Chihuahuas and provides a place where people who care about the breed can come together in meaningful ways. Membership is open to everyone who shares this passion, including breeders, exhibitors, judges, juniors, and performance competitors. No matter your level of experience, you will find a place here among others who understand just how special these little dogs truly are.

The CCA is more than just a club; it is a network of individuals working together to protect and promote the Chihuahua today while ensuring its future for generations to come. By becoming a member, you are lending your voice to a collective effort that values education, community, and stewardship. Together, we preserve the integrity of the breed, advance its health and welfare, and celebrate the joy Chihuahuas bring to our lives every day. It is a place where passion meets purpose, and every member helps make a difference.

What are the benefits of being a CCA Member?

Members can:

  • INDULGE their passion for Chihuahuas with a diverse group of people who share that passion as a common denominator.  This creates an opportunity for members to meet people with a variety of backgrounds, education, careers, and families they may have never known otherwise.

  • LEARN more about the breed and related activities through the exchange of ideas.  Experts say knowledge exchange promotes deeper understanding of facts and concepts because it aids the active processing of information.  Explaining concepts or opinions to one another when people with different expertise, experiences, and perspectives come together can be valuable.

  • BE LISTED in the CCA online breeders' directory (coming soon).

  • VOTE TO ELECT JUDGES for the annual National and Regional Specialties.

  • VOTE TO SEAT BOARD MEMBERS during our annual election.

  • EARN AWARDS AND HONORS and be recognized for them with plaques presented to honorees at our annual membership meeting.

Members will also receive the Chi Chatter, the CCA's official quarterly publication.  This full-color magazine is loaded with photos, show results, information about upcoming events, and highlights the accomplishments of some outstanding Chihuahuas.
